DESIGN SERVICE

At Lucy J Design we offer a design service where you purchase detailed plans and specifications for your new kitchen – you are then in a position to shop them around or hand them on to your builder or preferred cabinetmaker. You will know exactly what your new kitchen will look like and how it will work for you – and so will your manufacturer. No surprises on installation day!

This service consists of 2 consultations with Lucy or one of our other qualified designers.
You will need to allocate approximately 1-1½ hours for the first meeting.

There will be discussion on how you would like your kitchen to perform, what you want it to look like, your “must haves” your “wish list”. How many chefs will work in the new kitchen? What appliances will you need? What gadgets have you been dreaming of? What style is going to suit your home? What finishes will suit your lifestyle? What is your budget?

A professional designer is essential as they will be able to translate the answers to all the questions into a functional kitchen that will suit you and your family.

The second meeting (allow about 2 hours) is approximately 1 week later - the kitchen will be on screen and we will walk through it step by step. Minor changes can be made to the layout at this stage. We will discuss the style, finishes and colour. Nowadays there is such a huge choice in materials, styles and finishes that the inexperienced person will be lost when trying to work through them all. Having someone to help is a must.

Following this 2nd meeting your plans will be drawn up along with full specifications. Whether you are building or renovating you have now completed the most important step towards your dream kitchen – THE DESIGN.
